National Industrial Heritage: Nanchong Liuhe Silk Factory Was Selected Into The Fifth Batch Of National Industrial Heritage Publicity List

Recently, the Ministry of industry and information technology announced the list of the fifth batch of national industrial heritage in accordance with the Interim Measures for the management of national industrial heritage and the notice on carrying out the identification and declaration of the fifth batch of national industrial heritage. On November 17, Liuhe silk factory, declared by Sichuan Nanchong Liuhe (Group) Co., Ltd., was listed in the list of the fifth batch of national industrial heritage formula.

According to the notice, the core items of Liuhe silk factory are: Liuhe hospital, green brick cocoon warehouse, Wangjiang cocoon station, cocoon cooking workshop, vertical reeling workshop, boiler wharf and narrow gauge railway line, staff hospital, No.1, No.2, No.9 and No.10 staff dormitory, mulberry planting by Zhang Lan, silk making equipment, old office equipment and archives, etc. It is understood that Liuhe group, founded in 1912, is known as the "living fossil of China's silk industry". Liuhe group was once the largest silk reeling factory in Asia, and now it is the longest standing silk famous enterprise in China. The "silk source point" sign is placed in the factory. In order to protect and make good use of this precious industrial heritage, in 2015, the group company launched the protection of industrial heritage, including the establishment of protection institutions, the formulation of protection measures, the census and registration of files, the repair of historical buildings, the repair of machinery and equipment, the collation of cultural and historical materials, the improvement of the company's environment, the creation of scenic spots and the development of industrial tourism. Industrial heritage is an important carrier of industrial culture. It records important information of industrial development and witnesses the historical process of industrial development. It has important historical value, scientific and technological value, social cultural value and artistic value. It is reported that the national industrial heritage list is a list recognized by the Ministry of industry and information technology after declaration, review and on-site verification, aiming at strengthening the protection and inheritance of cultural heritage and promoting the protection and utilization of industrial heritage.
